Welcome to Hammersmith Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website hammersmithcarhire.co.uk and our vehicle rental services. By using our services you accept these Terms.

1. Hammersmith Rental Agreement

All vehicle rentals through Hammersmith are governed by a detailed Rental Agreement provided at booking confirmation or at vehicle collection. This Rental Agreement sets out specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, charges, and your responsibilities for the particular rental. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

2. Hammersmith Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Hammersmith, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old when renting from Hammersmith (age limits may vary by vehicle type; extra charges may apply for drivers under 25). Hold a valid full driving licence appropriate to the vehicle category, held for the minimum period specified in the Hammersmith Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification and proof of address, together with a payment card in the driver’s name, at vehicle collection.

3. Hammersmith Booking and Payment

  • Bookings can be made via our website, by telephone, or in person at our Hammersmith office. A booking deposit may be required to confirm your reservation. Full payment and a security deposit are typically due on collection of the vehicle. All prices are stated in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.

4. Vehicle Collection and Return at Hammersmith

  • You must inspect the vehicle thoroughly at collection and report any existing damage to Hammersmith immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both you and Hammersmith. Return the vehicle in the same condition as collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. New damage will be assessed and charged accordingly. Costs for repairs, cleaning or loss of use arising from new damage will be billed to your account.

5. Liability and Insurance

  • Basic third-party insurance is included with all Hammersmith rentals. Full coverage details and excess amounts are set out in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to reduce your financial liability. Hammersmith recommends reviewing these options carefully. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess stated in the Rental Agreement.

6. Cancellation and Modifications

Cancellation and amendment policies for Hammersmith bookings vary by booking type and notice period. Please refer to your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for full details. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.

7. Hammersmith Restrictions

You must not use the Hammersmith vehicle for:

  • Any illegal purpose or activity involving a Hammersmith vehicle. Racing, rallying, off‑road use, or other hazardous activities. Carrying hazardous or dangerous materials. Subletting the vehicle to third parties or permitting unauthorised drivers. Operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Use for purposes for which the vehicle is not intended...

Violating Hammersmith restrictions may result in immediate rental termination and additional charges.

8. Hammersmith Liability Limits

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Hammersmith Vehicle Hire Services will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the fees paid by you to Hammersmith Vehicle Hire Services in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Hammersmith Law

These Hammersmith Terms are governed by English and Welsh law. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English and Welsh courts.

10. Updates to Terms

Hammersmith may modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on the Hammersmith website. Your continued use of Hammersmith services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
